ABOUT JEFF GRAHAM
The freedom I found in recovering is something everyone facing a struggle or a low point deserves the Chance to experience. I want to share what helped me build and run my own plays with people who are still searching for their way forward.

Football has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From playing the game to coaching younger players, I learned the value of preparation, resilience, teamwork, and learning from what happens when a plan doesn’t work.
Years later, I found myself applying those same lessons to his own struggle to gain back control from alcohol. Instead of simply asking why he couldn’t use more willpower, I started studying the moments that led to drinking...like looking at the pressure, the patterns, the decisions, and the places where his plan broke down.
That became the foundation for The Championship Playbook for Recovery, and its accompanying workbook. My goal is to help you stop playing from someone else’s playbook and start building one that's your own.
A PLAYBOOK FOR REAL MEN
Most men can enjoy a good game and have a couple of favorites. During my early struggles with sobriety, I was asking...why does this keep happening to me? Why is it so hard? There wasn't much hope, until I began recognizing parallels between the way I approached recovery and the way I had approached playing and coaching football.
In football, improvement started with studying game film. I had to understand where a play broke down, what contributed to it, and what we could do differently. Simply having courage or wanting to win the next game wasn’t enough. We had to take what we learned onto the practice field.
I later began looking at my own experiences with alcohol the same way. Instead of treating every setback as proof that I lacked willpower, I started asking more useful questions that are unique to me and no one else.
questions I started to ask myself became the beginning of the playbook.
-
What was my plan, and where was the plan breaking down?
-
What was happening before I wanted a drink?
-
What was I expecting willpower to handle that I hadn’t prepared for?
